Virtual training for tackling incidents on the water

XVR is to be expanded to include training possibilities for tackling incidents on the water. The first virtual incident to be added to the XVR library will be 3D objects for tackling oil slicks. On behalf of the Dutch Department of Public Works and Water Management North Sea Division, E-Semble is developing an interactive oil slick that can be ‘placed’ on the water. The characteristics so essential to training such as colour, thickness and spreading by wind and current can be preset by an instructor.

The XVR library will also be expanded to include incident control vessels and possible interventions including oil screens and absorption material. All new XVR objects and the environment ‘Coastal strip with beach’ will be made available to XVR users with an XVR complete subscription. The new objects can of course also be used in existing water-rich environments such as campsites and ports and harbours.
