Link between XVR and ISEE brings together operational, tactical and strategic levels

On behalf of the fire brigade school for the Rheinland-Palatinate in Germany and the Estonian Public Safety Academy (EPSA), E-Semble has established a link between XVR and ISEE.

In a combined XVR and ISEE exercise, XVR is deployed for the virtual reconnaissance of the disaster site and the onsite

coordination. In parallel, on interactive 2D maps, the logistic processes are directed, using ISEE. The results of decisions are then displayed in both XVR and ISEE.

Linking the two systems offers instructors the possibility of bringing together operational, tactical and strategic level activities, in

a single exercise. The system to be used by each participant is determined according to the position they occupy.

One core element of ISEE is the fact that the system is regionally configured, with specific maps and locations. XVR also offers the possibility of uploading satellite maps, onto which the local infrastructure can be simulated with virtual streets and buildings. As a consequence, just as with ISEE, the virtual environment in XVR perfectly matches the local situation.
