Advisory Board

E-Semble invites people with a lot of life experience and a youthful mind for the Strategic Advisory Board. People who can look at new technology with a positive critical attitude and who can discuss with the board members of E-Semble about the usefulness of innovative applications in different fields. The Advisory Board gives advice (when needed) about threats and opportunities in different areas.

At this moment the following people have a seat on the Strategic Advisory Board:

Frank van Kappen, Generaal-Majoor b.d.
The Netherlands

In 1964 Senator van Kappen graduated from the Naval Academy in Den Helder.
In the course of his career he completed Special Forces (Commando) training with the Green Berets in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom and was trained as a Mountain and Arctic Warfare Survival Instructor in Norway. He was also trained as a Naval communications and warfare officer and is a graduate of the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, R.I. (USA). During his career he served successfully in numerous operational and staff billets in the Netherlands and abroad.

He now holds appointments as a Senior Mentor and Senior Concept Developer for NATO and he is a Senior Policy Advisor for the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific (Defence) Research (TNO) and the The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies (HCSS). He lectures internationally as an expert on security issues.
In 2007 Frank van Kappen was elected to take a seat in the Senate of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Frank van Kappen gives E-Semble’s management advise about the use of the simulation software applications in the security and defense sector.


Prof. Michel Debacker, MD
Belgium

Michel Debacker is a lecturer in Disaster Medicine at the Free University Brussels and the University of Leuven. He is the current chairman of the Executive Committee of the European Master in Disaster Medicine, which is organized by the University of Brussel and the Università del Piemonte Orientale, Italy.

During his medical career, Michel Debacker has held several leading positions. He was for example director of the Emergency Department and Burn Centre. He was also Assistant Chief of Staff of Medical Techniques and National and International Relations of the Belgian Armed Forces.

Michel Debacker was project leader of the European “ISEE Project” which laid the foundation of the development of ISEE Simulator, one of E-Semble’s simulation applications.

Michel Debacker advises E-Semble’s management about the development of simulation software for training and assessment purposes for medical services at accidents and disasters.


Dr. Lucas Noldus
Netherlands

Lucas Noldus is founder and current managing director of Noldus Information Technology, a lead company in the area of measuring and analysing the behavior of man and animal for biological, medical, psychological or human factors research. Noldus Information Technology has eleven offices in seven different countries.

Mr. Noldus studied Biology at the University of Leiden after which he completed his PhD at the Wageningen Agricultural University. Mr. Noldus is initiator of the international Measuring Behavior Conference cycle and he holds various advisory positions in scientific as well as human interest organizations.

Lucas Noldus advises E-Semble’s management about the management and organization of a medium-sized company with international sales ambitions.

Mr. Rob Brons
Netherlands

Rob Brons studied law in Rotterdam and was then trained as a police inspector at the Dutch Police Academy. Since 1980, he has held various positions with the local police in The Hague. In 1994, he decided to train to become a fire brigade officer. Shortly afterwards he became chief at the fire brigade in The Hague and general manager of the Public Safety Region Haaglanden and later, regional fire department chief in the Safety Region Haaglanden. In addition to this position, he was also national commander of the international operating rescue unit USAR.NL. Recently, he has been appointed Chairman of the Executive Board of the Haagse Hogeschool (the Hague University of Applied Sciences).

The many positions he fulfills next to his multifaceted career in the public safety sector, show the social engagement of Rob Brons. He currently holds several positions with the Rescue Brigade Netherlands, is an honorary member and instructor at the Hague Volunteer Rescue brigade, is vice-president of the Red Cross in The Hague and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the psychiatric hospital Rivierduinen. He is also affiliated with the Masters in Public Safety Department from the University in Delft.

Rob Brons advises E-Semble about developments within the safety and security sector and about the connection of E-Semble's products with safety & security professionals in the field.
