10 hospitals in ISEE hospital disaster relief plan project

Line
In Brabant, a region in the South of The Netherlands, 10 hospitals will be using ISEE for training purposes. The hospitals take part in the ISEE Brabant ZiROP (hospital disaster relief plan) project which is coordinated by the Urgent Medical Care Network of the Brabant region and is supported by E-Semble. Goal of the project is to organise ZiROP exercises with ISEE in the entire region.

In a ZiROP exercise, a hospital prepares how to act in case of a major incident. Because of the large hospital capacity that is needed in disaster relief, good preparation for such circumstances are highly important. Not long ago, a successful ZiROP exercise, supported by ISEE, already took place in the province of Zealand.

Guided by the project, the 10 participating hospitals will organise ISEE ZiROP exercises in the coming year. ISEE is a valuable support tool in a ZiROP exercise, because of the overview of the hospital capacity that is offered by the programme. In the first semester of 2012, the first group of 5 hospitals will commence training with ISEE, the second group will start in the second semester. Early March, the first ‘train-the-trainer’ courses will be held, in which instructors are trained in using ISEE during an exercise. The first ISEE ZiROP exercise will take place in early April, in the Jeroen Bosch hospital in Den Bosch.
